The bottle is a custom ceramic decanter that is a collaborative design by the Barrel and Bottle team and the very talented folks at Wade Ceramics in England.

Barrel and Bottle is a concept that David Sweet has been working on for the last few years, developed from the array of celebratory barrel selections he has had the privilege of conducting and promoting over the years – some of which are noted collectible bottles today.
Michael Bloom, founder and blender at 50 State Blend, has partnered with Dave Sweet and the Barrel and Bottle team to create innovative whiskey blends that taste great and tell compelling stories that highlight the rich diversity of today’s American distilleries.
Our Rivalry Blend is the first in a series of limited, micro-batch regional projects as we build to a culminating “50 State Blend” release, which will include whiskey distilled in each of the 50 States and DC. Rivalry features a balanced, rich and flavorful blend of bourbons, ryes, American whiskeys and single malts from Illinois and Wisconsin. These two states where football is still played in the snow on real grass and a homerun means a ball is going over the ivy or it’s time to get another brat. Places where Italian Beef Sandwiches and All-You-Can-Eat Fish Fry are whole food groups! These states where we have family roots, are home to some of the most iconic sports rivalries in the country, and fortunately for us, fantastic whiskey producers.
